If you are done with this project: a) print out a hand out version of your project and staple the rubric on the front of it. b) email it to me!!

1. Do Lab 2 on page 137. The pictures are in the shared folder. **Email this to me! AND Print out a copy.

2. After you finish the lab, work on your presentation (All About Me).
3. Do revisions and any catch up work.

1. Log on to VMware.
2. While logging on, go to http://www.typingtest.com/games/. We will play KeyMan today, with the normal alphabet.
3. Once you have gone through 2 rounds and VMware is fully loaded, open up PowerPoint.
4. We are going to do Make it Right 2-1 on p135 and Lab 1 on p136.
5. If you didn't finish Extend 2-1 p134, finish that!
***Print all 3 assignments in grayscale and handout form***

HINTS:
Make it Right: is in my shared folder. Copy and paste it into your folder. Print in grayscale & handout. Change handout number from 6 to 1 so the slide is bigger.

Lab 1 - The arrows can be found in the same place that we found the "wave" shape. Print in grayscale & handout form.


Due at the end of the hour: Extend 2-1 p134, Make it Right 2-1 p135, Lab 1 p136

1. Finish up Chapter 2 intro pages. At the end of this portion you should know:
  • How to add a shape
  • How to format slides so they look awesome!
  • How to add in pictures from the Internet
  • How to add animations (moving text or pictures)
  • How to add transitions
  • How to use your school email
2. Apply 2-1 p132
3. Extend 2-1 p134

At the end of today, please turn in the Chpt 2 "Protect Your Good Name" ppt and Apply 2-1. You'll need to turn in Extend 2-1 by Wednesday.

**I will be here after school on Wednesday, and another teacher will be here Thursday if you need to catch up on any missing work or revisions**

3. Today (Thursday), please do Make it Right p68. Copy the file from my folder into your folder before beginning the activity. HINTS:
  • prominently: stands out
  • print in gray scale, handout format
4. Do Lab 1-1 p69. This one is created on your own; it is not in the shared folder. Print off in gray scale when you're done.

1. Log on to VMware. Look at yesterday's instructions if you need a reminder!
2. We'll do pages 35-40 together.
3. Then, you'll have time to finish chapter 1 of PowerPoint on your own.
4. Due from today: A gray scale printed copy of the ppt you created in chapter 1. This is worth 10 points.
5. When you finish with pages 1-65, you can begin Apply 1-1 on page 66. This file can be found on the shared drive, which you have a link to on your desktop. Please copy the file (Apply 1-1) to your folder before you begin working. This is due at the end of class on Wednesday.

2nd and 4th hours:
Since these activities are so short, we will have time for Extend 1-1 on page 67, as well. Please copy this to your folder before opening it. You can skip step 6. Remember to print in gray scale.

  • Enable Right Click (System Preferences, Mouse & Keyboard, Change right button to secondary)
  • Command Q vs red button to close
  • Log on to VMware
  • Creating new folders
  • Creating shortcuts
  • Checking for printers
  • Start PowerPoint?

How to log on to VMware:
  • Start VM (Virtual Machine) -It is the red and blue interlocking squares in the middle of the dock.
  • A Virtual Machine Library window will appear. Click on Open at the bottom of the window.
  • Click on Macintosh HD
  • Click on Users
  • Click on Shared
  • Click on Virtual Machine Library
  • Click on Windows XP Professional
  • At the Novell Login window, enter in your user name and password in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Make sure the Workstation Only check box is unchecked.
